CANADUS SURE+START combines solar charging, intelligent charge control and battery reconditioning into one integrated battery maintenance system.

The solar panel provides additional charging energy whenever sufficient sunlight is available, including while the vehicle or equipment is parked or not in operation. A dedicated charge controller regulates the solar power according to the battery system configuration.

The CANADUS HD-1224 Battery Reconditioner complements the charging system by helping prevent and reduce harmful sulfation in lead-acid batteries. When charging voltage is present, the HD-1224 automatically activates its battery reconditioning technology to help maintain battery performance and service life.

SURE+START combines two complementary technologies: solar battery charging and CANADUS HD-1224 battery reconditioning.

At the same time, the CANADUS HD-1224 Battery Reconditioner operates when the required charging voltage is present. Its pulsed reconditioning technology helps prevent and reduce sulfation — a common cause of declining performance and reduced service life in lead-acid batteries.

The system is designed to complement the vehicle’s existing charging system. Batteries can therefore also be charged by the vehicle’s alternator or generator during operation, or by a compatible external battery charger when connected.

CANADUS SURE+START is a configurable solar battery maintenance and reconditioning system designed for vehicle and equipment battery applications. The system combines a durable solar panel, a battery-specific charge controller and the CANADUS HD-1224 Battery Reconditioner.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
The CANADUS SURE+START charge controller is configured specifically for the battery pack and is available for 12V, 24V, or combined 12V + 24V battery systems. The system can be adapted to different battery-bank sizes and vehicle applications.

SOLAR CHARGING SYSTEM The CANADUS SURE+START system provides up to 25 W of solar charging output and is designed for 12 V or 24 V battery systems. An optimized MPPT charge controller manages the power supplied from the solar panel to the battery system and incorporates protection against overheating. The flexible, non-reflective solar panel measures approximately 11¾ × 20⅞ in. (298 × 530 mm) and is designed to continue providing charging capability even if the panel is punctured. The panel can be permanently installed using its self-adhesive backing or mechanically fastened, depending on the application. A plug-and-play wiring kit with approximately 10 ft (3.05 m) of cable is supplied as part of the system. CANADUS SURE+START supplements the vehicle or equipment’s existing charging system. Depending on the application, the batteries may therefore also be charged by the vehicle’s alternator or generator during operation, or by a compatible external battery charger.

SOLAR PANEL
CANADUS SURE+START uses a flexible, durable and non-glare high-efficiency solar panel designed to provide charging energy while the vehicle or equipment is not running. Canadus states that its solar panels are designed and manufactured in the United States.

BATTERY RECONDITIONING
The system incorporates the patented CANADUS HD-1224 Battery Reconditioner/Desulfator, designed for integration with 12V and 24V lead-acid battery systems. Compatible battery technologies include conventional flooded/wet-cell, AGM and Gel lead-acid batteries.

AUTOMATIC OPERATION
The HD-1224 automatically activates when sufficient charging voltage is present and switches off when voltage falls below its charging threshold. Its smart circuit automatically detects whether it is operating on a 12V or 24V system.

SYSTEM EXPANSION
CANADUS SURE+START is designed as an adaptable system rather than a single fixed configuration. Canadus specifically identifies applications including military vehicles, reefer trailers, RVs and buses, and that the system can be adapted to different system sizes and requirements.
